1. Consistency of grade
  2. Dependability of supply
  3. Assurance of quality
  4. Integrity of price

Four things a Gulf buyer judges an importer on, in that order. EdenForge Trading is a Dubai-based import house built around them. We source Hass avocado, pineapple and coffee beans from Uganda and deliver them, documented and cold-chain intact, to buyers across the UAE and the wider GCC.

Fresh fruit moves by sea in 20ft or 40ft controlled-atmosphere reefers, or by air from Entebbe to Dubai when speed matters more than volume. Coffee beans are non-perishable and travel the sea lane without the clock running against it.

The Manifest, part one

Orchard

Fresh fruit grown in Uganda, graded at a registered packhouse and shipped by sea under controlled atmosphere, or flown from Entebbe when the programme calls for it. We trade two fruits today and evaluate others against the same standard before adding them.

In the manifest

Hass avocado

Persea americana, cv. Hass

We ship Hass only. It is the variety the market wants, it travels, and Ugandan Hass is already commercially accepted across the Gulf. By sea, fruit moves in 20ft or 40ft controlled-atmosphere reefers, which extends shelf life well beyond the transit and protects the grade on arrival. For shorter programmes we also fly from Entebbe to Dubai.

Pineapple

Ananas comosus, cv. MD2

MD2 is the variety the Gulf retail shelf is built around: sweet, uniform and durable enough for the sea lane. Supply into the UAE is unusually concentrated in a handful of origins, and Dubai re-exports pineapple onward to Oman and beyond, so a dependable new origin has room.

Mango and passion fruit

Seasonal programmes, not yet in the manifest

Both show strong demand in the Gulf and a real Ugandan origin advantage, particularly for juice processors and foodservice. We add a fruit only when we can guarantee the same grade consistency and cold-chain evidence we hold ourselves to on avocado and pineapple. Buyers with a specific requirement are welcome to ask.

The Manifest, part two

Coffee beans

Unroasted Ugandan coffee beans for roasters, traders and processors in the UAE and onward across the region. It is how Uganda already sells to the world, and it suits the Gulf lane.

In the manifest

Coffee beans

Robusta and Arabica, unroasted

Coffee beans are non-perishable, enter the GCC duty-free, and Dubai has become a serious re-export hub for them. We buy from licensed Ugandan exporters, ship through Mombasa to Jebel Ali and supply graded coffee beans to buyers who roast, blend or trade onward.

Why Uganda

Uganda is already one of the world's great agricultural exporters. What has been missing is organised supply and hub logistics into the Gulf, not acceptance of the product.

How we work

Most consignments that fail at destination fail on paperwork and cold chain, not on pests. We treat both as the product.

  • Packed to export standardFruit is graded, sized and packed at a registered packhouse in ventilated export cartons built for the lane. Coffee ships in sealed export bags that hold moisture and cup quality through transit.
  • One product per containerAvocado, mango and pineapple each want a different temperature. We do not mix loads, so each container runs at its optimum.
  • Controlled atmosphere, alwaysReduced-oxygen reefers extend avocado shelf life to around six weeks against a three-to-four-week sea transit, leaving a real safety margin.
  • Cleared the same dayMinistry release in Dubai is a one-working-day process when the file is complete. Ours is complete before the vessel arrives.
Source where the gap is widest and the edge is real.
